Default Clarion DVD player installation question

According to the instructions included with my Clarion VRX745VD, I can't use amps unless I use their 5.1 channel surround decoder. There 3 sets of RCA females in the rear entiled "front audio, read audio and non fader output". Is there something about this unit that won't let me go directly to an amp? Need to know before I take this sucker out of the box. Help

Greg...I found the install instructions in PDF format on clarion.com. From what I can tell you have three RCA outputs...front,rear,and non fader. Non fader would be used for subwoofer. Now here is the thing. If you want to use 5.1 you then need the encoder piece. Check page 8 of the install instructions. I don't think you will have any problems with this radio...looks like a nice piece according to the manual.

I spoke with a rep and he told me that the information was a little misleading. I can use the amps with the unit. Now what do I do with the lumination wire?
