I think I found why the bass was weak. I changed the polarity of the speaker wires and in the garage it seems much stronger. I'll see how it sounds next time I'm on the road.
Hi-
I just installed a 2/4 channel Alpine amp and full range MTX box speakers per 99HT's postings. In the garage all sounded good. On the road it is totally lacking bass just like prior to this install.
In a past life I used the same components with an Alpine deck and I could feel the bass with every hair on my body.
What is the problem? Would switching to a sub correct it?
I need your help.
Thanks,
Bob
Have you double checked your crossovers? You might have it set a bit too high.
I haven't read anything about a crossover, so to answer your question...no. The gain is turned all the way down. If the box speakers are full range will a dedicated sub-woofer do the trick?
