Bose amp replacement question
I have an amp laying around and a Kenwood MP3 deck. I'm debating using the Soundgate GMCRV1 or using the amp to drive the 8" woofers in the doors. Is it possible to not use the Bose amps and drive the woofers with an aftermarket amp?

Well, it works and sounds so much better. I used a the generic GM wiring harness from metra to do the other speakers, etc. Then ran RCA front out of my head unit to the two channel amp. Ran speaker wire from the amp to the Bose woofers. I simply unplugged the terminals from the woofer that come from the bose amps and plugged in my speaker lines from my amp. I put the amp behind the passenger seat, don't have it permanently mounted yet. Those Bose subs put out a lot more sound now, too much bass actually. Tomorrow I'll finish up the project and tune the system. All in all it was a pretty easy install. Fishing the wire through to the doors is actually pretty easy. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow.

Here are a couple shots of the amp. Haven't mounted it perm. yet.

The HU doesn't stick out as far as the pictures make it look. I'm very please with the outcome. I can't believe how much those Bose subs put out now.
