What does it really effect? I'm trying to decide whether it would be worth the time/effort to change my current box(5.6 cubes, 2 4" ports, tuned to 32 hz, 25 sq. inches of port) to allow for more port area. I would be doing a slot port, 10" by 5", 50 inches of port area, tuned to 33 hz. It would end up with a box volume of 5.15 cubes with the port being 13.5 inches long.
What exactly would doubling my port are do? I know I will virtually eliminate port noise(it doesn't bother be now), but will it be louder? Will the subs unload faster/slower? I have searched the net but have come up empty handed on those facts.
Anyone care to comment and/or enlighten me about port area?
