Default Battery cable path

I have an 04 that I am trying to install a new amp for a sub. Any one know of the best path to get through the firewall for the Battery cable? I have looked all under the dash, to the extent I can bend myself, and haven't found a way to the battery box yet. I am trying to avoid drilling a hole if possible.

You will need to remove the passenger side footwell cover and the door sill trim. You will need to pretty much lay in the passenger footwell and look up towards the right corner. You will see where several factory wires are coming through. You can pass a wire through there. I highly do not recommend that. There is ample space there to drill a hole dedicated to your like. I prefer this method because you can achive a much better seal on the driller hole (install a grommet and then silicone it). Also there is a chance of doing damage to the factory wires in the factory grommet. If that happens you will be in a jam. I also find it easier to run the wire if the battery is removed from the vehicle. All in all the C5 is a very easy car to pass wires through the firewall.

Thanks for the reply EatRice(like that name btw, like to do that myself). I'll check that area out. I figured I would need to remove the battery to be able to drill, but was a little nervous about what was on the interior side. Do not want to drill into something I shouldn't. I guess I need to take some more under dash stuff out to be able to see these harness's you are writing about.

You can safely drill just to the right of the harness. You will notice that there firewall has a few right angles there. There is a flat spot that you can go right through with no problems. You will have to lift up the firewall insulation...black rubber mat with yellow foam on it.

Got it, all done, car back together. Now I just have to decide how I am going to do the subwoofer. Appreciate it.
