I picked up the PAC ipod interface kit for my 04 coupe but I don't have a CD changer and I cannot find any evidense of the changer wiring? I am assuming I need to buy the changer wiring harness, but on top of that I cannot find the plug that it would plug into in the passenger footwell? Am I off base on something here? I read that it was on the lower right of the fuse box? I am hesitant to hard wire this with adaptors being available. Any idea where to get a a good price on the harness?
You need to locate the fuse box on the passenger side. It's easy to find, lift up the floor mat. Once you remove the cover the wires will be on the side of the actual fuse box, 3 wires (I dont remember the colors, maybe black white and orange? anyway I think the owners manual covers it.) covered with black electrical tape. I did the IPOD conversion and it worked great.
Has anyone run the wiring so that the ipod would live in the center console? From what I read the remote control of the ipod is limited to play/rewind/ff/on/off, and cannot choose artists/albums/playlists. Pulling over to change albums is not a great solution.
I'm still debating whether to get the PAC system or not, but if I do, I was thinking of running the wiring into the center console. That way, I could pick the album and then close it up in there without having it slide in the cupholder (plus it's easy to then lock it up). As for the PAC box itself, it would either go behind the passenger seat if there's room (easy to wire) or back in the trunk where the CD changer would go. Where are you mounting yours, pdykinga?
