I've got a 4/3/2 channel amp, a head unit, a 12" sub, and a set of 6.5" component speakers that I'd like to install or get installed in my Z06. I've been told that dealing with the factory amps in the Bose system is a real pain in the ***. But how difficult is it to bypass that entire system and install all the new goods?
Is it a really difficult install for a novice? Or how much should I expect to pay to get this installed?
I've heard estimates as high as $400. Are they crazy or is that fair?
If you have experience installing it is not a difficult vechicle. Bypassing the BOSE is rather simple. Remove the radio and the front speakers. Run new wire into the doors for front speakers...now your BOSE is bypassed. If you are comfortable dissmantling your car and running wires it is doable.
For the price quote..first do you need a box built? If the price is 400.00 with all the needed parts and the box being built ...that is a good price. If that does not include the box the price is a bit high but not obnoxious. Also if you decide to do it yourself you will need to purchase the power wire, rca cables, fuses, and few other odds and ends. It all adds up.
