Help with wiring
But i have 1 issue that maybe some one can help with. i can not find an ACC. wire anywhere. i went thru all the posts over 6000 of them and they all say there is a 3 wire plug on the BCM well i look at it and its not there. I have a 2004 coupe. my question is does anybody know where there is one. the only one i found was a brown on the ignition switch. would that be ok to jump onto. if anybody knows of another wire please let me know i have tryed the AC plug and pretty much all the surrounding wires. i cant belive there are not more somewhere else.
if i used the brown on the ignition would it put any noise in the system. there is a spare fuse in the fuse box but it only works when you have the ignition key placed to on. i guess i can go there also. i cant belive that i am the only one that had this issue with a 2004. but reading the post nobody really said where they placed it. thanks Bobbo
On the passenger side, pull back the floor mat, then take off the access panel where your feet would rest. Lift up and back to take this panel off. You'll see that this panel is held up (in part) by two circular Velcro-like pads, about the size of a quarter. The accessory wire connector is near the upper left of these pads, near the top left corner of the silver box (BSM I think).
Note that this is a black connector with three wires: Black (ground), yellow (accy) and orange (hot). The female side of the connector is fastened to the car. The male side has three wires sticking out of it that are taped back on themselves so that you can't see the ends. On general inspection, it does not look like a spare connector. Just strip off the electrical tape and you'll liberate the wires.
When I did mine, the connector was crammed up in the top left corner of this area and was tricky to find. There's also a black connector that is part of it, which has a button like protrusion. Once you find the connector, if you push that button while pulling on the connector, it should separate from the other 1/2 of the plug so as to give you more room to work with the wires and you can re-connect them later.
Good luck.
