I just recently put in a sony cdx-8800 in my 1996. It looks really good. The kit I used is made by metra and purchased it from installers.com. You may have to cut a small piece of the plastic bracket out of the back of the stock opening for the new cd player to fit. Hope this helps.
What am I missing when I look at that website? Everybody keeps directing people to it. Does anybody know of a FAQ on how to install a aftermarket radio in C4 Bose or non Bose?
sorry for the misspelled link in my first post. If I ever need to add switches or add some digital gauges I'm going to put them in place of the pocket supplied with the install kit. The only down fall is that the brackets are plastic and could break if over tightened. If I knew my factory radio couldn't be refurbished, I'd cut off the side panels and have good sturdy metal brackets instead of plastic.

That is the only website that I've seen that offers an install kit that fits the corvette.

This is exactly what I did, except I went to a local salvage yard and picked up a cheap radio out of a like year model as mine. I told them I wanted one that didn't work, they looked at me kinda funny, but hey, I got it for like 10.00 which is just as if not cheaper than most plastic kits for any car.
