Default PIE GM10-AUX Input in C5...

Has anyone ever used this? Does it work? I have an 04 C5 without a CD changer. Is my vette still pre-wired? If not, I have to buy another cable thatcost $70.

From my understanding pre wired just means that the cd changer cables are pre wired from the HU to the passenger footwell. You will still need the harness that runs from the footwell to the rear of the vette.

You need both the GM10_AUX and the COR_HAR. The COR_HAR hooks into the cd changer wires (on all vettes, except 97-98, I think?) under the passenger footwell. You then attach the GM10_AUX to the other end of the COR_HAR, to convert it to RCA inputs.
You can get them both from Tuan (Supporting Vendor). He is excellent to deal with, and I highly recommend him.

You will love XM. It's great!!! I haven't listened to AM/FM or my CD's since I did the install....lol.

(This is for the XM Commander. Not sure about the other XM systems out there).

I had a 12 disc changer in the trunk and replaced it with the GM10_AUX from Tuan (I highly recommend him as well) and run my iPod from it. Why worry about 12 discs when I have 6,000 songs to chose from?

Anyone know what the difference in the setup is with the 97-98 with regards to the cable harness?

Default Okay, going with the GM10-AUX but

What to hook up to it to listen to MP3. I know the IPOD is popular but heard someone mention a keg or something (hard drive). I am still not clear on one thing with the IPOD since I don't own one. Do I need to have the IPOD with grasp to select my songs or can I do it through the head unit with the IPOD in the trunk. Is there something better out there yet. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN THE XM/SIRIUS THING!

Second question, is there an easy to install, economical, MP3 playing HU available. If someone is going to suggest one could you please include all the little cables and thingys that will be required to install this. I am not one of those people that has an ear for music. I don't turn the volume to 10 and need a lot of base. I just like to listen to tunes. Thanks for any help you can provide.
