When playing IASCA's Sound Quality CD zero bit track (no sound track), I have some noise through the speakers. I have turned the gains all the way down and then up until sound volume is adequate, approx. 1/4 up. Any suggestions to eliminate this noise.
That is called "floor noise" you remove it by adjusting your gains. To get rid of it you turn down your gains till it is gone. Problem with this is you will not likely have enough volume. You can do a few things. Add a line driver to bump up your input voltage to the amp or change out the amps. If you were to go with the line driver (personally that is what I would do) you then turn the gains all the way down on the amps and use the line driver as your gain. This should get rid of your noise. Other option is to go with a much larger than needed amp so when the gain is turned down you still have plenty of power.
Do you plan on competing in IASCA with the car? If not I would not worry about it. You will not notice floor noise when you are driving down the road.
I have not seen a noise gate in years. When they were around they were a huge PITA to get dialed in. When things line drivers and high output head units started coming around noise gates back an outdated product.
I have not seen a noise gate in a long time either.
What is the signal to noise ratio (sn) of your HU? Anything below 90 db can give you the "hiss" too. You are probably okay here, but it is something to consider. I would think today's HU would have enough output voltage to prevent the "hiss" but a quality line driver could only help. On the bright side...a quality line driver is much cheaper than the noise gates of old.

Kamloops...where are you located? I have not seen much of IASCA comps these days. Spring Break Nationals is the only I go to anymore. Sort of a shame in my opion..everything has gone to SPL. If you do plan to hit an IASCA comp you should set your car up as close to the rule book as possible. Have you had it on an RTA yet?
I am in BC Canada, RTA?? , interested to see how my system compares to others out there and thought IASCA would provide that avenue. Not interested in SPL, had IASCA's sound quality compettition CD shipped and my system holds up very well except for the floor noise.
Sounds like a good plan Kamloops. A RTA is a tool that will be used on the car if you attend an IASCA competion. It stands for Real Time Analizer. It measures how well your system reproduces the entire audible frequency band..20 Hz to 20 Khz. If you do end up going to an IASCA show do not play your stereo till after you have been judged. Heat will cause frequency loss and you will score better on the RTA if the speakers are cold. Good luck.

I don't understand, you should have ZERO noise with those specs
