I would like to install Sirius in my 98 vert and I just ordered all the cables necessary to hook up to the AUX input on my factory CD player. I was wondering what unit any of the Sirius users had and if they were pleased with it before I go shopping. Any install pics would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!!
I have the original Audiovox model. There is a new one with an available Boombox. The functions appear to be identical. The one I have works great in my 4Runner, but I have to use the remote because the unit is mounted on the console in front of the shifter. In the Corvette, there is no decent place to put the unit. It is tall and wide, but thin. I think a different version that is deep instead of tall would work better. I made a bracket to place it on top of the passenger hand hold. Wires everywhere. Again, I think a model with a different shape would work better and could be mounted on the dash pad or in the ashtray. The remote works great, so don't be concerned about having to reach the unit to use it.
I have Sirius in my 77. I really like the service. My only regret is that I don't have a portable reciever unit. I'm not in my vette as much as I would like to be anymore, and miss listening to my Sirius stations.
