the SPL drag vehicles use lotsa concrete in the doors and inner fender liners... I guess it must work. I can only imagine how dull that must sound, tho...
It is always neat to experiment ( like putting 1000 watts into a 5 watt speaker ) but would never use concert for a vehicle. Weight is an enemy.
I do know they make subwoofers for home stereo that uses marble enclosures that are super heavy and way over my budget, way way over
Jay...have you seen the monkeys that spend 50g on a record player that sits on marble? WTF is that? They call themselves audiophiles because they only listen to vinyl. I think it is a case to more money than brains...lol. Totally off topic had to through that in there.
Neat idea on the concrete box. There was a SQ car in one of the mags a few years ago with a concrete lined box. Was not a sphere like that though.
Never in person, just in magazines. That goes with the marble subs. They both make sense in a weird way (marble will NOT flex and you will have 100% output through the sub with no wasted energy on the walls) but the $$$$$$$ is outrageous and a 500lb enclosure, how in the hell do you move those around? At least a thief would not be able to steal it without dropping a nut

FYI marlbe WILL flex actually, and an easily measurable amount too, just not enought to count in application an application like that.
I work with marble and it will actually flex quite a bit, I have seen a 1" sheet bend 1.5" over 4 feet. I was just trying to point out that its not an completely rigid material that all
