Default i just got my new subs

they are Digital Designs 3510s...more info can be found here http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/w...p?series=3500d

my single sealed 10 just wasnt cutting it anymore...after finals i am going to build a complete fiberglass box for them in the hatch area after i realized i never really put that much stuff back there so the box is going to consume about 1/3 of the space

nice stereo in that SUV 2400 watts into one sub, ported at that. That has to be one tough sub.

it was closer to 2800 as those JBLs bench closer to 1400 watts RMS

I had owned 3 of those amps (one got stolen when my truck was broken into ) I run one of the in my vette that powers 3 Infinty Perfects 12.1Ds at a 2.66 ohm load. I'm estimating that amp is putting out about 1050 watts. I ran two of them in my red Talon TsiAWD into two JL Audio 18W6s. I figured they put out about 900 watts each. Man, those two 18"s made people chit their pants .

Anyhow, I think if you manufacturer's sheet says 1400 watts that has to be at 14.4 volts which is not a true voltage in the back of a car.
Not cutting down your amps (I own the same ones), but I do think 1200 watts into a 2 ohm load is more true. But...in Sony or Profile amps, that rating would be more like 7000 watts peak power
Some people believe that crap, there is a sucker born every minute. One cannot get a new 1000 watts per channel amp for $199

the JBL 1200.1s were bench tested quite a while ago to do very close to 1400 watts (between 1-2 ohms) at 14 volts...at 12v they will do 1200 watts (what they are rated at), and yes I was getting 14 volts in the back of the truck, at least for the brief second during a burp, but they would soon drop down to 12 volts, so that sub was taking anywhere between 2400-2800 watts...and yes they are tough, nothing like playing a 35 hz note at 75 % power when the box was tuned to 65 hz for SPL...

hey where did you purchase those subs? I tried a limited google search and didnt find much in the way of dealers. But maybe i just looked in the wrong place ... and how much did that series price range run? I looked at the DD link and they have some VERY nice higher end versions that are just georgously machined. But they look too expensive for my poor self ... I can only wish.

got them on ebay and they were pretty much in perfect condition for $250 for the pair. There are not very many DD dealers and when i bought the 9515d i bought it straight from DD as they included shipping in their prices...
