Screw it...
I'm going to go ahead and put a system in the Vette again. I'm going with a CDT theme.
HD 52 up front, MS-80 under the grills in the back. Maybe a 4 channel 100 watt amp hidden in storage.
Midranges mounted in fac location, tweets in dash. Hell with imaging.
Throw even more carpet padding in the car, get some quiet mufflers...
I wish I could find an Mp3 playing head unit, not too expensive, with something a bit better than 1 bit DAC...
If i can't sell the thing by the time college starts...
I'll have to stealth the whole thing... Should be a fun project.

That's what I like to hear. I swore up and down I wouldn't touch my vette. I even waited almost 1 full year.

Just a local college to get back into the swing of school, then UC davis. hopefully ending up at Stanford. I plan on getting into the medical field. I was thinking Psychiatry.
I've actually cycled a lot of nice stereo gear through the vette... but took ti all out/moved it/etc when I tried to sell it. But the car won't sell.

I don't know what a 1 bit DAC is, but if you're interested, I've got an Alpine 7894 head unit that plays MP3's and it's cheap (I think it is compared to what I paid for it

Alpines have a 1bit dac. I've got a 7998 in my Tacoma.
I miss my Clarion HX-d10... I loved that deck. It was stolen when I was in the hospital. Can't get them anymore. I got mine on clearance...
I still have the DSP for it.

Etronics still has this unit!!! No Mp3, but the hx-d10 was an AWESOME deck..
It has a dual 24 bit dac. I would bet dollars-to-doughnuts that it sounds better than my 7998. Never got to bench them side by side.
I'm tempted to buy this head unit just to have it... even if I don't use it...
WEll it has auxilary in.. so... I can attach an mp3 player very easily to it...
Maybe ill put the HXd10 in the taco... and i dunno... I want that head unit, but I want the features of the 7998. Damnit.

I'm running the Pioneer P77 in my truck. Great fit and a good HU for the $. Why are you selling the vette? Are ya thinking C6?
