I have a C5 Vert and I would like to up grade my sound system.
Like put a sub in cavity portion of the trunk and add a amp.
but keep the same stero. is this possible?
And if anyone has can I see some pics.
it's possible if you get an adator. there are various adaptors that interface an aftermarket amp with the oem equipment. there are 2 or three posts on this page that go into more detail about it. i think one is titled 'adding a sub' or something like that.
i just added a sub and amp last weekend to my factory stereo system... i bought a box from a forum member, he makes them for the rear compartment. this is what i have done so far. 10' Infinity Kappa Perfect Sub and a small Alpine T-220 amp (100watts bridged). only $250.00 for both, delivered to my work. next will be 3.5's for the door, (to replace the Bose highs) and 6.5's for the rear. i havn't taken any pics yet, but if you want some i would happy to take some for ya. i have researched this a lot over the last few weeks. i really am not looking for something real loud, just want it to sound better than the factory Bose... which i'm finding isn't that hard to do. PM me if you need some more info. i'll tell ya what i have read so far.

best way to post pics is to have some photo album web site to do it for you.. I use Picturetrail.com for my links here in the forum. Its free and it has its own installable picture manager that makes bulk moving of pictures to their web site easy, but you can still use their web uploading interface. After looking thru about 7 or so other sites, this was by far the easiest to work with. Here is a host pic from my album : http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL760/...1/74113306.jpg
I just cut and paste these in.
But as far as your upgrades, I do have a question, what speaker manufaturer are you going with for a drop in replacement for the bose 3.5" speaker? And, someone correct me if im wrong, cause I have no idea, but are the C5 vette bose stock door speaker size the same as the 84-88 mounting size? Right now i dont know of any drop in speaker solution for stock mounting space in the doors of ANY vette model... Please correct me if im wrong.
someone on here posted a link on how they sliped in a pair of Alpine sps-080a's w/ no problem. i'll try and find the post. he has a break down on how to take the front and rear speakers out.
found it... front: http://www.spdkilz.com/techtipfrontspeaker.html
I added a sub to my c5. You need a separate amp, along with a signal processor to work with your Bose head unit. The amp, sub, speaker box, and sound processor cost me $450, and a stereo shop charged me $150 for the install.
