Audio system for a '89 Coupe???
I'm looking to replace the headunit and speakers. I know for sure I'm putting in the Pioneer DEH-P77DH and a subwoofer in the trunk, but I haven't decided on the speakers yet. From what I've read in the forum it can get quite complicated. Can anyone give me some tips which speakers to get and what's involved with hooking them up?
Thanks,
Carlos

We need to know what kind of $ you want to spend before we recommend speakers. This I can tell you now. Pioneer has that HU with controls to use the rear speaker wires to power subs but I don't recommend it doing that way. I would buy an amp for the sub.
Anyways, I have around $ 1500 to spend on this, but that has to include the HU, CD changer, speakers & subwoofer. Also, I'll probably have to rewire the whole thing....
usacoustics 80x4 amp
single image dynamics idq10 in back with a usacoustics ampa round 250-300 watts output
whatever alpine, clarion, or pioneer (in that order of preference) that has the features you want in your price range. check out crutchfield.com to look at em, and compare em.
a Pioneer 12 disc changer $125
these speakers for the front $220

this amp $410

and this awesome sub $310

that comes to $1365. If you do the work yourself, you should be able to purchase all the wire and materials for the remaining $135. You will NOT be disappointed with these choices
