I'm looking at some new CD/MP3 players for Xmas. I am leaning towards a flip around head unit, one that has a black display panel and flips around to display all the controls. I found the Sony CDX-M8805X which looks pretty good but was worried about quality issues with Sony, as I've heard of some problems with them.
There's a link to it. Also, is there any other recommendations or models that you guys know of that are similar to this cd player. Must be able to play mp3's. Thanks guys.
I think..could be wrong but Sony and Kenwood are the only two that make radios like that. Flip the face that is. The Kenwoods called them mask radios. I have seen alot of those fail. Anytime you have extra moving parts you are going to have a higher chance of failure. As for Sony...I have seen only a couple fail..very small percentage. Heck...every CD player made by anyone has Sony chips in it.
I bought an Alpine 9835 and their interface to the Ipod. Works great, I recommend it. Search by playlist, artist or song. Had the installers put the plug in the center console. Also charges the Ipod while playing. Interface was $50 if you bought a head unit.
