Hi all,
My daughter has a 94 LT1 coupe that has the Delco Bose Gold Series stereo but it doesn't work. I bought her a Dual XMP 6000 for Christmas. I have read many other posts here on the subject of installing aftermarket stereos and radios and have learned that this isn't an easy job. I have managed to get the old stereo out and have purchased an install kit to help fill in the huge opening. I have also purchased a car stereo connector by Scosche that is suppose to work with this make and model of car but I don't see how it could work. It doesn't match up to the plug in the car. I would like an adaptor that would plug directly into the existing adaptor in the car. Do they make them? Can I purchase one of these adaptors? Thanks
I don
t know much about this stuff at all....I do know that my 16 year old daughter doesn't have any tunes in her car and to her ...well...that is a sin!...LOL I am limited on funds but a quick learner. If I could please just get a little guidance. After reading alot of post on here, I find that you guys recommend replacing the whole entire bose system but at this point I can't afford to do that. I just want this stereo to work enough to keep her satified for a little while and with a little guidance I am hoping I can do this job myself.

I'm no expert on the C4s, but I have read the same thing, replacing the whole system is the way to go. You've already replaced the major expense, the HU. I'd do a search on here to find out the speaker sizes and pick up a value set of coaxial speakers and run them off the HU for now. I'm a fan of the MB Quart Discus series. You can get some 5.25" for about $60 and 6x9s for about $99 on ikesound.com
Thanks, do you know where I might purchase the harness I need that will connect ot the harness in the car?
Again, I don't know much about the C4. But if you have an aftermarket HU, you will just want to run new wiring to the speakers. A common GM wire harness should get you power, ground, and remote turn on. You can get em at WalMart for about $7. Check the C4 FAQ post.
Good luck.
Ok guys...you NEED to read the FAQ's section.....the wiring harness you bought will plug right in...TO THE RECEIVER!!!!......the harness behind the deck is nothing...Junk...ignore it...You need to find the receiver. It is either under the passenger side dash...or in the rear hatch area.Follow the antennae lead from the back of the car.You will find it underneath the carpet on the driver side.Thick black cable..silver rectangular box.You will notice it because it has the antennae lead plugged into it.
read the FAQ's first.....so you know what you are getting into..
