After letting the car warm up for about 30 min the radio's (Bose) volume will drop way down. If I give the a little smack to the side of the console where the head unit is the volume will come back up. My hand is starting to hurt from doing this. Would this be the amp or the head unit that is the problem? Is there anyway to test?

Lol...I think you found it! IIRC, the amp is under one of the seats. Since it comes back up when you smack the side of the dash, I'd say that's a headunit problem. It's worth giving Dr. Don's a call, though, before you throw any money towards it.
