Question about Bose Tape Deck
Ok...someone moved my last question about this, and since there are several other threads related to Bose systems in this general discussion forum, I guess I'll be a d*** and try again. Whoever moved it last time told me that I could get it fixed or replaced...I'm not the smartest person, but i can figure that much out. What I need to know is if anyone has experienced this, and can tell me what the problem is and what i might do to fix it and to take it a step further, if I do have to have someone work on it, would it be more cost effective to just replace it. Not sure if it is a simple fix or not. ANYWAY, this'll probably get moved too...Last guy says it should be in "audio"...I don't see an "audio" link to any forums, so if someone would like to square me away BEFORE they decide to move this to some unknown location, I'd much appreciate it! Thanks!

I didn't see your original post... You don't mention the problem in this one, though, so I can't tell you whether or not it's fixable!!! Anyway, I have heard 1 good thing about the Bose repair from eBay, and I've heard 1 bad thing (both reports from CF members), so that's 50:50. I guess you can take your chances if you wanna go that way, but personally, I just wouldn't. After all - it's eBay.
A reputable person I *would* send my headunit to is a place called "Dr. Don's." The guy pretty much specializes in Bose HU repair, and many MANY people here have used him with much praise. I'm sure a Google search will get you the info you need.
As for finding the audio section...near the top of the page, just below the banner is a red menu bar. "Forums" is on the far left. Click on "Forums" and a menu will drop down. Highlight "General Corvette" and a sub-menu will dropdown. You will then see the "Audio/Electronics" section. It encompasses all Corvette generations, and there's usually a pretty heavy C5 presence, so don't be surprised if it maybe takes a couple hours longer for the right "someone" to respond with a definitive answer to your problem.

What Perf said about going to the drop-down menu's allows you to hit most (all?) the area's on this forum.
