I always hear about people having trouble installing new audio components. I'm looking to replace the door speakers, and the two in the back. I've installed speakers before, so I'll know what I'm doing... but what's going to be different with the BOSE system. If anyone has a tutorial, or if it's just a few things to look out for I'd appreciate if someone could give me the heads up.
the brief run down is that you can't just install new speakers, you have to get at least a new head unit too. the bose head unit doesn't power the speakers, they are powered by individual amps that run at 1 ohm, so the components are not compatable with just aftermarket speakers. most will adivse you to rip out the whole bose system (h/u, speakers, wire, amps) and put in a new h/u, speakers, wire, amps and subs at the same time (if you want subs)
