Auto Extras & MemorabiliaAccessories for your Corvette that aren’t budget-busters. Plus, Corvette memorabilia and die cast models (1:24 and 1:18 scale).
Hey guys well my collection is slowly getting larger. (Today I just bought the Action Rolex 24hr winning car)
So I have 10 cars some 1/18 and some 1/24 and a big azz Apache die cast (the FM one) So my little shelving unit I have used it about out of space now. I was wondering what the best thing to display them in would be. I have a lot of space but not a lot of money.
If you plan on getting more than 12 cars and have the room, I'd suggest going to a discount furniture store and looking at curio cabinets. In the long run it will be cheaper than buying several plastic cabinets. I have both but the I don't have the room for more curios so I have a couple giovanni cases on the wall.

I would agree with that but I am actually saving up for some of those sweet cabinets that the corvette museum has. So I think I am going to get a couple giovanni cases for now.

those cabnets are nice from the museum, but 3K is nuts!!!!!!
i got 3 curios from a furniture store that was closing for 100 bucks and then i bought a large glass display case from a shop in the mall that closed.
Would it not be cheaper to have a local glass place make these display cases for you......???? Especially when you factor in the cost of shipping these display cases......
I had some smaller (similar in size to a 1:24 auto) scale diecast planes and helos when I was younger. I hung 'em from my BR ceiling with fishing wire and brass hooks screwed into the sheetrock. I don't know what that AH-64 weighs, but I bet you could rig something up with a higher-test line that would look sweet. Obviously, you use 3-4 lines, each anchored to a different part on the model. If you use different lengths, you can have it rolled/pitched/yawed whatever way you like! I had a mock "dog fight" above my bed... My friends loved it.

When I was a kid my Dad always hung the model airplanes he built from the ceiling in my room. Many times I'd wake up when a Lear Jet or P-40 crashed into me while I was asleep!
