I think (if my memory serves me correctly) someone paid over $300 to get the 1967 Bloomington Gold Vette! I bid on it back then also but didn't go that high. Being both are serial #15 it would be a shame if they have to be split up.

The first one I ever saw on Ebay, back in 1998, went for over $900. Keep in mind that was back in the "good ol' days" when 1/18 consisted mostly of Ertls, and prices for rarer cars were high. You know, back before dealers ruined Ebay. Back in 1999 I purchased the complete 3-car BG set, matching numbers, for $1500 (not on Ebay). The photos of the BG Vettes you see on the Scale18 list were submitted by me, and they are those same Vettes. About a year later I sensed what was coming in the diecast market and sold the set for the same $1500 and considered myself fortunate. Although Bloomington Gold is a shadow of it's former self, the 3 1/18 Vettes that came out of it still have a special place among Corvette diecast collectors. These are pretty much the "holy grail" of 1/18 Corvettes.
Well, I guess if thats what you like but c'mon, yeah they are nice but they are still Ertl. I mean when diecast were first hitting the market everybody thought Ertl was the bomb, along with Bburago and Maisto but now you can definately see a difference in them lines as compared to say AutoArt or Exoto.
When I bought my GMP #3 I said thats the top. I would never spend anymore than that on a diecast. I used to think I was a collector but not to sure now

Mike: What are the 3 you are talking about? I only have seen the white 67 and blue 69...is there another one? I didn't find it on Kevin's site either, just the 2 posted above.Just curious as I don't particularly collect ones with special event decals on them like the elusive Farrington 92.

It's the red Mira '54 that was issued for the Special Collection in 1996. It has tampos on the doors and hood. I have one, and to me, it's the best looking of the bunch.
Would someone please correct me if I am wrong. I was told I couldn't mention my Ebay listing on this forum and the monitor removed a post I made last month. I have listed some items here and held off on the ebay listing because I wanted to comply with the forum's requirements. Thanks for the input. David
