What is your craziest, rarest, one of a kind, or different Corvette collectible?
Diecasts and promos are cool, I love them as much as anyone. But what Corvette collectible do you have that is crazy, weird, rare, one of a kind, or just different? I have a few things that I think are off the beaten path and I would like to see what you all have too? Here is a sample of a couple of my favs...
Zippo Corvette Tape Measure
Hot Wheels Corvette Flash Light
Corvette 50th Anniversary BBQ Grill
1986 Corvette Indy 500 Pit Badge
50th Anniversary Gibson Corvette Guitar Display Case
Ok, time to stop with mine. Let us know about your unique items!

I don't know what the prize is, but this has got to be in the running for weirdest...
I found this at a flea market probably 20 years ago. I don't have a clue as to it's history. It is molded rubber, similar to the "Auburn" toy cars of the '60s. The body must have started out as a '75 Corvette, but the front bumper is turned upside down, the wheel wells are filled in, and then it is further decorated with a lobster, seashell, flowers, and some other shapes on the hood - all molded into the one piece body....
How's that? Does this classify as craziest, or most different for you???

That is the funniest thing I have ever seen. A good friend of mine bought a '57 Corvette flower pot @ a flea market for me. I will have to take a picture and post, but it does not come close to that find.

I bought this a few years ago at a Home Goods store. It's made from sheet metal. I guess this is what a metal body '67 big block would look like.

Melting Slicks
I got this from someone whose family owned a Chevrolet dealership from the 1920's until the late 1990's. It hung in the showroom from 1953 until the sold the dealership.
I've been unable to find out anything about this piece, (rarity, value), if anyone knows anything about this, I'd love to know.

I have one of these as well....I purchased it new as it was offered to Chevrolet dealers in the late 70's. I used to "hang out" at a local Chevy dealer and he showed me the GM flyer for it....I asked him to order it for me and he did. From what I remember, it was something new and only offered one time.....I'm not sure something like it was around in 1953! At about the same time I purchased two Corvette blueprints mounted on wooden display boards...one was the 53 and one was the '78 Anniversary car. Those were available through Chevrolet at the time.

Thank you for the information. I thought it was newer than something made in the early 50's, since the frame is made out of plastic. Just curious, do you remember what it cost?

That has to be homemade, Like from an alfa/Fiat like thing????. Can you tell us more? Maybe from a third world country!! The whole thing is a complete mess, but the windshild frame is so out of scale and with no window glass it has to be cool. I would have bought it .Is there anything on the model(term used loosley)that might include it orgins???Ha just noticed the outside review mirrow!!!

I bought it at a Home goods store which sells mostly the same kind of stuff as Bed Bath and Beyond but it is close out stuff that didn't sell somewhere else. It doesn't have any kind of sticker on it that says where it was made but it looks like it was made by hand in some third world country. It is definitely the ugliest representation of a corvette that I have ever seen but that's why I couldn't resist it.

Hi jetske -
I have a 1:64 1967 Corvette painted with Black Sabbath emblems etc.
I happened by it at Wal-Mart one day - never seen another one.
I don't have a picture handy.
I also have a 67 coupe 3d puzzle, and an old Avon bottle chaped like a mid-year coupe.
best regards -

How 'bout an original '67 vette promo......
.....that matches my real car? It's one of the early production versions that year, actually painted in two coats of Marina Blue, not just color molded like the later ones! Values on these things have gone nuts recently - up tp $1000.00 0r more!

OK - the fingernail clipper got me thinking... I knew I had that one, too.
So, I decided to go poking around and see what else I have that might be a little unusual.
Salt and pepper shakers...
A Corvette pillow...
A Zippo style lighter...
A Butane lighter...
A Back massager...
And last but not least - a small porcelain '57...
That's it for tonight - geo

You are really testing my memory now....I honestly can't remember but I'm sure it was under $100 or I would have never ask him to order it for me. You are correct the plastic frame pretty well dates it....something like this in the early 50's would have most likely had a wooden frame.
