Any SR2 Models?
I don't think any manufacturer has offered one, but I thought if anyone knoew they would be on this forum. Seems like about the only Corvette model that's never been replicated in scale.

Still, I'd prefer to keep my collection to 1/24 and 1/18 and, if I want a die-cast SR2, perhaps 1/64. Even 1/43 for that matter.
So, given that the JB oferring was available in 2 colors, which one is correct do you suppose?

If you google Jime Beam Corvette Decanters you will come up with a websight that describes them in detail. One of our forum members here is the author.

You are correct though; transkits do take some realtively advanced modelling skills. Or, as I used to tell customers during my days as a dealer in Automobilia, if you're an assembler of kits, stick with the poular brands by Revell, Monogram, et al. If you are a modeller, then tackle a nice resin or white metal kit or a T/K.
Things have changed over the years and the die-cast industry (read, China) has grown tremendously and there are now die-cast models of better quality than most of us could produce with a white metal or resin kit. Not to mention a wider variety.
Thanks for the input. I fear my skills have deteriorated to the point where I'd probably have difficulty doing the conversion to an SR-2. But it is good to know that such things are still out there. It was always such great fun to have customers come by and see something they had never knew existed only to discover it was a cheap die-cast modified with a T/K.
