i am looking for a c6 convertible die cast in artic white
any suggestions on where to purchase or should i just buy a model and try to paint it

I'd check eBay first....lots of cars on there and if that's a rare one, that might be your best bet.
I can't think of a better suggestion, but you might also peruse the websites of commercial stores like EWA, Replicarz and Exoticar.
Most of the popular diecasts can be disassembled so you can repaint the bodywork, but this is not as easy as it sounds. Some diecasts are so well-detailed you run the risk of losing small parts. If you do want to repaint it, it's best to remove the original paint beforehand. Otherwise you're just adding more coats of paint and possibly "filling in" some details, like door lines.
