Ofcourse when you are young and you can't have the real thing, the scale models are the next best thing. I Gathered over 300 in various scales, collectability and colors. I still need to make photo's of all of them, currently they are stowed away in boxes on my parent's attic as I don't have any place. (the garage is completely scracth build, the only thing bought are the car & the mecanic). After more then 15 years they have become very brittle unfortunatly.
Regards,
Nick

Very nice collection
Wheres the jackstands? You should'nt have your mechanic under there without stands.
I really like the shadowbox garage scene.

The garage scene is really cool, is that something you did yourself, tell us about it.

Thanks for the comments. The garage diorama is 90% homebuild and it took a couple of months to construct.
The base plate is multiplex, just with a coat of varnish. The floor is card board painted with red oil paint and then brush weathered with various shades of brown & black. The walls are balsa wood. To create the brick effect i pushed a long metal ruler to create the horizontal lines, a smaller one to create the vertical ones. Painted grey with oil paint, the seams are dry brushed with oil paint white and then weathered with brown. The door, sink, work bench, oil pan, storage rack, intercom, light switches, sockets, cans, bucket, etc are made with plastic sheet, strip and rod (something you find in model building shops) then painted and weathered to a color according their function. The tools are cut from very thin plastic sheet. I first printed various tools on a paper and glued it to that sheet as a template. The tool organizer is the same template but printed on a thicker paper. Ditto for the corvette sign. The sink drain is thick plastic rod heated and bend to shape. The electricity 'tubes' are just heavy gauge stiff electricity wire bend to the desired shape. The blocks holding them in place is again plastic strip. The mirror and lightening fixture is made from aluminim sheet. The tl tubes are plastic rods. The towls and cloths are made from medical bandage dipped in wood glue. When its almost dry you can shape it into the desired shape then when its completely dry paint as desired. Tranny, tires, exhaust are spare parts from other kits. Oh the extention cord roller is also a spare part.
The owns corning Vette was a 1/24th Revell kit
Good call about the jackstands guess I lost my patience to early and wanted something new to do. Btw the car lift on one of the first pictures is also made from sheet strip and rod. Its a very nice material to work with, the only thing holding you back is your own imagination
