Auto Extras & MemorabiliaAccessories for your Corvette that aren’t budget-busters. Plus, Corvette memorabilia and die cast models (1:24 and 1:18 scale).
When is a company ever going to make a diecast model, or plastic for that matter, of a late C3 Vette? The only one I've ever been able to find is a 82 Collector Edition.
The only ones I know of are the Zora die-cast cars, they are year specific and pretty nice as well as cheap to buy (I think they are 1/43rd scale). Try ebay for them, cost about $20. Your other option is to buy a CE die cast, then buy a 78-79 for the wheels, repaint the CE and swap the wheels. I really wish these companies would start making later C3's too.
If you are into models look for a Monogram 2404, it's a 1/20th scale, just picked up my second one for $15 on ebay. And my blood pressure goes up every time a 1/8th scale gets on ebay because all the morons bid it up to $100 3 minutes after it's posted on ebay
I have a 1982 Corvette Promo in Dark Claret (maroon). It is still in the origional box. If you are interested in it, E-mail me at teppet@aol.com, and I will send you some pictures.

I search for 2404 on ebay all the time and have yet to see one. I stay away for a week or two and miss out
I guess I should never stop looking :mad
Thanks for the advice guys :yesnod: I would like to find one I could modify and make it look like mine. The '81 promo models would probably be my best bet, although they don't have a beige one, so I'd have to paint it. Are they plastic? And what scale are they?
It looks to be old tho, and probably a collector's item or something, although the Buy It Now price is only $30. It looks to be a custom 81 with side pipes and stuff, but if I could modify it to look like a stock 81, I'd buy it :yesnod:
I bought the VooDoo Vette, and still haven't gotten around to putting it together. Such a pain. I wish UT would make a 1/18th scale 1981 Charcoal Metalic Vette die-cast so I wouldn't have to build it. I know. Wishful thinking.
That one is out of production now, but you can find them on Ebay. They are getting pretty pricey, though. That is one of the Franklin Mint models I would really like to have.
