Down the board is a discussion about the availability of a 1/25th scale model of the 1959 Corvette Stingray Racer. Here is the scoop:
The 1/25th Stingrays above have been determined to be long-out-of-production Scale Dreams builts. Paul of Mr. Fury Miniature Motors told me more about these today:
"Hi David,
Thank you for your e-mail. Scale Dreams made the 1959 Stingray in two versions, the red race version and the silver restored version. I had a pair of 1959 stingrays for sale about two years ago for $2500.00 with matching serial numbers. It ended up the two went to different purchasers. Scale Dreams has been out of business for many years and the prices are going up with very few surfacing. I will attach a picture for you of my pair. Please note, the driver in the race car was added later.
Paul

Remember that $2500 number.
Next, I faintly remembered a Stingray from my slot car days and lo and behold what should appear on Ebay in July, 2001 but:
I had to show the entire kit just to remind us all how far the hobby has come. Yes, the kit has exactly two very crude pieces and some suggestions about rounding up the rest of the needed pieces. I paid $45 for this kit!
Finally, there is the resin body by Bill Landis and David Sporaso (sp?) that Bill admitted to me recently was based on the "Scuderia Scale" vac form body above!! Gary McNutt built one for the Toledo NNL and he noted that it took a lot of work to better define the fenders and to correct dimensional errors. His results were excellent:
