I started looking on the different sites at exotics and race cars and I'm hooked. I need the GT 40 by Exoto 169.00  I made a whole list but will order one a month. I bought a few C5R's and a Viper GTSR last year. I got a ZO6 for my birthday :D . Now I see Callaways, Diablo, Murcielago, Panoz's race, Porsche 917, Countach's. I'm in trouble. What are the better models. I like the 1:18 size Auto Art type. Thanks

Well, you got the right idea for quality. Get the Exoto's and the Auto Arts. Lane also makes good products from what I have read, buy I don't own any of theirs. You can spend a fortune or just buy what you like and not worry about it too much. Good luck with the obsession.

Oh, if you like the Exoto 1/18 GT40, you should look into the 1/10th scale they have available. I'd love to have a C5-R done that way.

The Exoto 1/10th scale is nothing more than a scant hopeful so far. No doubt in my mind that this will be done but it will be a long way off at best.

As an example of what I am saying, the First Heat series was/is a Can Am offering from Exoto that was announced almost 5 years ago that was to have 12 models in the series in both 1/18th and 1/43rd scales to be release 1 at a time. So far, none have been released.

As for the 1/10th scale cars, these will command a huge display area and at $1,000 each, these had better be good.

Also if anyone is interested, there is a long standing battle of Exoto geared at GMP, but not the reverse. I know the GMP folks and they really do not care about Exoto but for some reason, Exoto has waged war on GMP.

The 1/10th scale GT-40's by Exoto was announced as direct competition to GMP's 1/12th scale Gt-40. But the only big problem was that GMP's Price for 1/12th is $489.99. All of the Exoto 1/10th scale was set for $998.95 except the 1/10th GT-40. They dropped the price on that to $598.95 and waged war on GMP.

See, I told you it was convoluted, and deep, very deep.

Lane Exact Detail die-cast models in my opinion are some of the best die-casts available. Their attention to detail is astonishing. I have 5 of there models so far and there are quite a few more that I still want to get. Unfortunately, they have not released any Corvettes yet, but check some of these out....

Lanes is one that is getting better and better with each release they do. The Shelby Mustang series was a great start for them but suffered from more than a few inaccuracies in their models.

Lane and GMP share one of the factories in china and it does show. This is not a bad thing mind you. The factories learn as well as the diecast companies do in the creation of these Molten beauties. Not all the time is all the work translated accurately into diecast by the factoroes but they are learning as are the diecast company in what we all want to see in a diecast.

I try to collect Exoto, Carousel, Auto art Ut plus others. I am willing to pay a little (lot?) extra for quality diecasts. I don't collect Burago or Maisto unless it's a one of that no one else does. Sorry about being choosy, but it's an afflication related to my career. (Helicopter QC Inspector-perfection is everything) It gets in to the blood I guess.........................Just my .02 worth
