Did you find a different sized tank to replace it? I have a 2 1/2 gallon Peterson tank that is new with a few slight scratches and willing to trade plus $100 as I don't have the mounting brackets. It's 6" X 24". It has dual 12AN inlets and a single 12AN outlet plus a 1/2' npt bung for a heater.

I have my solution. Did a bunch of measuring and had Peterson build a custom 7" tank. After mounting I have a solid 1/16" clearance between the top of the tank and the hood. I may have been overly concerned about proximity of wires to the tank. Final solution I went a little nuts heat shielding everything from the tank. Guess anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

I've been speaking with Peterson also. They mentioned to me they have spinnings to make me a 7"X16" tank that will hold 2.66 gallons. After some measuring this is the best tank size into a C5 with out to much hacking.

kmagvette did you get the tank already?? I requested the fill hole and cap to be offset from the top to gain even more clearance. Can you send me a PM with a pic of the tank.
