I have only bought my blackwing off ebay, and that was actually through corvette garage I have really only sold crap...well not crap, but things I dont need. So far so good and have made back alot of money that was just sitting around the garage
I figure the first time I ever buy something on Ebay it will be a scam.
Too chicken to play.
Everything I've ever bought there has turned out perfect. The Pyrometer was brand new, still in box and works great. I got my tie-down straps there, the kind that John Shiels recommended with the latches parallel to the ground, brand new. And got my Prodigy brake controller for half of list price, new in package.
The best way to use it is to shop around and find exactly the model number you want to buy and determine the best price you can get, then go to e-bay and enter the brand and model number into the search and you'll get the results back. Many stores list a "buy it now" price which is often much lower than you can find it anywhere else and worth just buying it outright and not bidding.
Try it with something you're thinking of getting, like a winch or something, and you'll see that bargains are there to be had.
I have a 92 6 speed and I won a bid for a brand new dual mass flywheel, a new clutch and disc for $450. It's been running great for 2 years now. I was scared until it showed up.
-Bought a "like new" LS2 TB for $51 six weeks ago.
Could not make it run at all. Screwed with it and my wiring for a whole day. Drilled out the security screws, took it apart and discovered the entire TPS mechanism was gone as in not there!
Next one cost more.
Could you elaborate on this please? I'm having a hard time visualizing this tie-down. I'm looking at replacing all my tie down ratchets soon.
Thanks,
Paul Barrros
The hooks are in-line with the straps, not at a 90 degree angle. This makes the clearence better under the car and hooks easily into the "t" hooks under the car. The ratchets are the same.
I've been cleaning out my garage on Ebay, Selling all the stuff you guys are too lame to buy.
But every now and then something gets bought from a Vetteforum member.
John Sheils could be expecting a small package from Santa next week
I got a MO for $7.50 today from a forum member for a tilt steering cancelling cam.
