Default SCCA NATIONALS- Who Will WIN SS,ASP,BP and SM-II

This year will be interesting. We have some new talant on the scene and they could turn out to be wild cards. From what I know about the players, here are my picks:

SS- My bet is on Erik Strelnieks- Like that's a big surprize.
ASP Non other than Danny Popp- He is a man on a mission. And the car/talant to take back the title.
BP Stan Whitney Good luck man, I wish you the best.
And for SM-II (this is going to be close, like real close) It's a toss up between Gary Thomason and Andrew McKee and as fast as and smooth as Gary is I just can't seem to rid my mind of the mind blowing times that Andrew through down last year. Both are great drivers. And I anticipate a good race between them.

Popp in THIRD? Do yourself a favor and don't bet your retirement on that one.

Well, with the "Great Pumpkin" being towed out of Topeka for repairs I'll go with:

SS: Corvette - Erik, Pat, or Matthew -- "The Fewest Mistakes Wins on Any Given Day"
SSL: Corvette - Open field but Elena isn't slow...
AS: Corvette - McWho?
ASL: Corvette - Lori "You Can Do It, They're Only Hondas!"
ASP: Corvette - Danny "The One-Lap-Kid"
ASPL: Corvette - Karen "Even Without Danny's Car She'd Win"
BSP: Corvette - Harold "The Grand Sport Lives"
BSPL: Corvette - Lori "You can take a Miata"
SM2: Corvette - Gary "I'm glad I dumped the GT3"
SM2L: Corvette - Diane "I own Junior"
BP: Corvette - Sam "Can You Believe this Monster Actually has 2 OEM Parts" - if he runs....

Good luck everyone! And those I didn't list...the pressure's off so go prove me wrong. Good luck to you too!

Wish I was there.

After the first day of the Pro, in SS Braun's first, Jr's second (I think?), Strelnieks third, and Telehowski is fourth.

Didn't look at the results - heard this over the P.A.

Matt also had fastest SS for day one of the warm-up event.....

As for Danny, it depends on the infamous Gorilla Factor.... IF he can keep the gorilla caged he will win.... IF he lets it out and goes wild........ Well, he's been there and done so I think he will make it happen this year....

So many cones, so little time...

Well the Pumpkin (Elise) had tranny problems and Junior jumped into Pat's Z06. So the top four are all Zs!! With Erik, Junior in Pat's car and Matthew holding the top three spots and Steve closely behind going into today's Pro-Solo Final! Go Vettes!

My vote is for Dan the Popp man. He is always a man on a mission, has a great attitude all the time, great family and support group. If anyone deserves to take the title in ASP, it's him!

I hope that either Gary and or Jerry can take out Andrew. But gosh darn is this Andrew guy FAST! Last year I was watching him go into turn 1. He was going fast. Too fast. I was with a mutiple time BM champion and we both agreed he would not make the turn. Or at least if he somehow managerd it was going to be very messy and slow. We were wrong. He sailed through there like a darned F1 car. Andrew is crazy fast.

BTW: I am willing to bet $1.00 that Danny Popp will indeed take 1st in ASP.

So who has a link? I've hear rumors that it will go out on streaming video this year. Any truth to that?

What is the run work order?

ASP or ASPL ... If its blue and has a 94 on the door, I'm betting on 1st place.

Danny's car looked awesome at the practice event this last weekend, but James Gunn-Wilkinson just kicked axx in the Pro...ASP could be a great battle and I wouldn't count Tom Berry out!

In SS, I think Braun is going to take Strelnieks...quite possibly. Matthew seems to be very happy with the car and is a great driver. Salerno was also fast in the practice event, 2nd quickest Sat and 1st Sunday, but the practice event is not a very good predictor of final results...or so I've heard, this whole thing is new to me...I'm just trying to not get lost
