I need to change tranny and differ fluids in 04 Z06. Warning light came on at TWS. What kind should I buy? also how much does it hold? Thanks in advance.

I've had good luck with Royal Purpal
SycroMax Tranny Lube designed just for manuels that use ATF - about 3.5 quarts
MaxGear Diff fluid for the rear end - about 2.5 to 3 quarts

Using amsoil some need the gm additive in the diff some do not.
Make sure the car is level for the fill. Do not overfill the diff as it will cause the seals to leak. Some actually run the diff a hair low for track use.
I think amsoil also sells a fluid pump or you can get that at the local parts store.

I previously used Redline MTL in the tranny and I was getting high transmission temp alarms almost every run session. I put Redline D4 in the last time and have not seen a high temp alarm since. Redline D4 is the synthetic equivalent to Dexron which is what your owners manual calls for. I also noticed there was some varnishing from using the MTL and i is quite a bit thicker than the D4.
personal opinion. I use Royal Purple because a local shop carries it. I doubt that it's any better or worse than Redline, AMSOIL, or Mobil 1, just easier to get. All 4 are good quality synthetic fluids and you can't go wrong with any of them.

Thanks for the mention.
As he indicated, I use the AMSOIL ATF in my tranny and the AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 in my diff for my SCCA T1 car and have had very good results with it. My car is still on the original stock tranny and diff after something like 15k street miles, 10 DE days and 28 or so SCCA races without any rebuilds (though I am planning one this winter just as a precaution).
