Hey Mitch I am interested in the VIR event but have a few questions. I would be in the Black group and was wondering how much track time to expect? I also wonder if the equal belting/seat rule applies to the Black group? I currently only have a race seat and harness on the drivers side but don't plan on a passenger. Also what are your requirements for instructors as I have instructed for NASA at VIR in the past? Thanks

Hello Everyone,
First post for the North American Road Racing Association. We are a track event organizer and sanctioning body for the US GT, Whelen US Time Trial, and US PC (prototype) championships. We also hold US PDE driver education events when possible.
We provide an opportunity for many levels of drivers to get on some of the best tracks available.
You don't have to be a hard core racer to get on the track with us. Time Trial (TT) is a great place to take your driving to the next level if you already have a number of driver education or track day events in your résumé. Our TT is open to street cars, you don't have to have a roll cage, but you do have to have the required driver safety equipment. Test your skills against the clock as you learn how to find the best line and work with the other cars on track. You will have multiple competition sessions per day in order to work your way up to your best lap. There are 4 classes based on power to weight, so even if you have modified your car, we have a class for it to fit in.
The US GT is open to all fully prepared GT race cars and drivers with a race license from a recognized sanctioning body. There are 4 classes in GT as well, and we typically run sprint length races of around 30 minutes.
The paddock atmosphere is low pressure and the group is very social.
We have had one event so far this season at Road Atlanta, but here is the remaining schedule:
May 15-17 Watkins Glen International - Watkins Glen, NY. (USGT, USTT, USPC)
June 5-7 Virginia International Raceway - Alton, VA. (USGT, USTT, USPC, USPDE)
July 3-5 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course – Lexington, OH. (USGT, USTT) Formula Race Promotions is the host for this event. We are a support race.
July 31-August 2 Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Wampum, PA. (USGT, USTT)
August 28-30 New Jersey Motorsports Park. Millville, NJ. (USGT, USTT) Formula Race Promotions is the host for this event. We are a support race.
October 16-18 (Finals) Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Wampum, PA. (USGT, USTT)
The TT cost for these events starts at around $500 for 2 days, and US GT starts at around $800. We have other options available as well, so please feel free to send us an email or a message if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late response we have been busy prepping for our NCM HPDE and NCM Museum Bash last weekend. For the Black group you have what is needed and will not have an instructor unless you would like one.
Contact Matt Busby matt@motorsportspark.org or 270 467 8802 for VIR HPDE questions.
We also have coming up here at NCM Bluegrass BMW Club's HPDE 5/15-17
SCCA Track Night 5/19
Chin Motorsports 5/30-31
