I mounted the DRM coolers on mine and they were relatively easy to install in the rear brake ducts. I will be at Miller this weekend with Lapping Days so if you are there, come by and you can take a look at them. I'll be the tallest guy on the property with a blue Z06 in the advanced group.

Thanks Too Tall,
Or I can send you pictures via e-mail. Our system is very simple and works like a champ.

I've been thinking about running the Big Bend race down at Sanderson, TX, and have a couple of questions (just for my own education):

1. What speed class are you running?
2. Any idea what kind of temps the tranny and diff run at?
3. Assuming that synthetic fluids are used, what are the max temps those fluids should see?

TIA, and have a good one,
Mike

$15.00 would not be a problem since I am 100% sure there will not be any taller person there that is driving on the track.

Back on topic:

LG has a very good and race worth Trans cooler system. Worth every penny.

I've looked at those coolers, they take the rear brake opening to cool the coils. Is it thought that those rear brake ducts are useless?

Several people here have posted that the rear ducts are little benefit. I don't know if that was from experience or if they just read it somewhere.

When I first installed the trans and diff cooler I removed the rear cooling ducts. I noticed evidence that the rear brakes were getting significantly hotter. I moved the coolers and reinstalled the rear brake ducts. If your only running Roebling road, no sweat. You don't need brakes there. I run Sebring and I need all the brake cooling I can muster.

Mike, I was running last weekend at Spring Mtn. where it was just over 100 degrees by noon, and right after a session I took temps on the cooler core with an infrared temp gun and it was about 165 degrees for both sides. I know that the trans/diff were probably a little hotter than the cooler was, but after a 25 minute session on a hot day, that's all the higher the fluid temps got.

One thing that I like about the DRM system that uses an electric pump to circulate the fluids vs. a mechanical pump driven off the rear end is that after a session is over and I'm parked in the pits letting everything cool off, I can just leave the pumps running, circulating fluids thru the "radiator" so that it doesn't just sit there and cook inside the trans and diff.

Randy

Would your system work or what would your suggestions be for getting an A4 with a 2400 converter to run under 230 on a hot day on a road course.

A couple of days ago I got off the track when it hit 248 .... it was 100 ambient. I have Dewitts with EOC and EOT with Setrab 6x14 inch cooler in front of the condensors.
