Default More C6R Penalties

Well the expected has happened.
Even though the AMs were faster the Corvettes get the most penalties.

Fuel capacity reduced to 90 litres (AMs stay at 100)
Min Weight upped to 1190kg (AMs stay at 1100kg)
Restrictor opening reduced (AMs stay the same)

To add insult to injury the AMs fuel capacity is actually increased for the one race at Lime Rock.

I think the Corvettes should tell the ALMS to go screw themselves and join NASCAR with their new weight.

Did I miss something? The C6 won because the AM broke and spend some extra time in the pit... no? It was a close race (same lap) for most of the race.

They won't stop penalizing the Vette until it loses consistently. I say SCREW 'EM. GO race in some other venue.

why don't they just make the vettes tow a boat around the track. That would really PO the limey's when the big yellow tractor wins.

I know.. It sucks. It happens to more than just the Corvette though.

I'd personally love to see Corvette Racing pull out of the GT1 class at this point and compete in the GT2 class instead with a less modified car.

I understand the need to limit some advancements etc. or the series would turn into F1, but there has to be another way.

Why not limit budgets like in Pro sports?

If you want 100% equal cars, run IROC races with equal firebirds for crying out loud.

Unfortunately, politics and racing will always go hand-in-hand. In the '60s you had the Europeans handcuffing the Ford GT-40's at LeMans, you had USAC killing off the outrageously advanced STP Turbine Indy cars, SCCA Can-Am doing the same to Jim Hall and his Chaparrals. The list goes on and on, I am thinking more recently (1993?) when they killed the Penske-MB pushrod motor at Indy. Even in Sportsman racing, the T1 class is basically "Spec Vette" so they are now allowing Vipers that are obviously much quicker so that the domination will end. And I did not even get into what happened to NASCAR....
