So much for F1 wanting to appeal to the US market. They leave Indy and now bump their American driver.

Vettel is pretty talented, he may be just what Torro Russo needs. Scott Speed will probably land on his feet, it would be nice to see him in CART.

Scott Speed was so far out of his league that it was embarrassing.
There are many young talented drivers in the US, arranging funding is usually a problem so that they may race on a top team... you need a sponsor with you in the $100 million range to get a decent seat. You also need to be about 20 and really super good so that you can be a test driver for a year or so before you jump into the fray. Nascar eats most US sponsorship... My first wife is in charge of a Nascar sponsorship and that program costs $100 million for her company to put on with the peripherals and tag promotions and she will not continue at that level because they do not get a return...

nah....you have to have the talent for the series. I think Lake Speed was very pretty quick in Karts - way back when.

Speed's racing career began in Go-Karts. He won six International Karting Federation championships, and to this day, he is the only American to have won the Karting World Championship. He captured that title in 1978 in Le Mans, France, where he bested, among others, the future Formula One star Ayrton Senna.

If they are giving up tier NASCAR deal, I can be bought very cheap.

I was married to her, you need more than a paltry $100 Million to deal with her....

They are going to sponsor something a bit more upmarket, no more NASCAR ...
