[F1]Valencia
Haven't seen much of the daily qualifying segments, but from what
I've been able to watch, Valencia appears to be a test for the drivers
and for the tires.
It would be interesting to run laps with the old traction-controlled
cars to see how much the intervention assists on such a course.

In practice Hamilton adapted to the new track the fastest with a staggering two lead. That was measured after each driver did 4 laps each, or is it wreckless?

Massa on the pole, Hamilton 3rd.
Both STRs in the top 10, as well as Trulli.

What's with the umbrella boy(s) on the grid? I watch with captions
on and thus didn't hear whatever additional commentary might have
occured.
Any speculation about whether and how the pit lane incident will
be penalized? The driver's opinion in the post race chat about what
the competitor should have done seemed preposterous, given the
camera's view of event sequences.

Also, does anyone else feel that if Peter Windsor was ditched in
favour of someone else who asked questions that weren't loaded
and bitchy, that drivers would be prepared to say more on camera.
Nico Rosberg? "Not right now, please. He is listening to his favorite
song"
Surely SpeedTV could find a knowledgable interviewer who is capable
of questioning subjects without either alienating or fawning over them.

"So, David. With the new colostomy bag that Mr Newey
has developed, how do you see your prospects shaping
up for the race today?"
What was the excuse given when Windsor was waved away fromhas developed, how do you see your prospects shaping

the pre-race grid, but my issue is with the baiting I perceive in Mr
Windor's remarks to his subjects, as well as the between-interview
asides.
He also uses his ambush technique in the post-race interviews in
some attempt to generate a reaction.
No doubt the drivers are trained to expect and handle this behavior
but I feel that we viewers are short-changed as a result. My vote
is that the comments would flow far more freely (and revealingly) if
the interviewer would simply ask a relevent leading question and turn
the mic over to the subject.

But I believe they are required to provide some semblance of access
in the interests of the sport.
Instead of agitating them, it would be nice if Mr Windsor could get
them to share a brief glimpse of what is on their mind as they prepare
for the event.

I am most definitely in the wrong profession!
What was the deal with the proximity lights on that pit stop? I wasn't paying attention when they explained it so I missed how they work. Either way, that was bad. I cant believe stuff like that happens at that level of the sport. Its just like the fueling rigs. With as much money that flows through the sport, you would think that they could come up with a fueling rig that wont leak and catch fire.
