Just realized I need numbers for the BW event this weekend. I've never needed them for a DE event before, so given I only have a day (and like no time with my work schedule) what is the best way to do this? Tape? What kind?
Thanks
1. You can use race tape - it's like gaffers tape (in fact, it may _be_ gaffer's tape) and doesn't leave a residue on the car.
2. You can call FastSigns - tell them what numbers, what font, how big (I get mine made 10" tall) ; it'll probably be about $20 and they have a 24-hour turnaround.
Thanks for the fast reply! Where can I get race tape? Can't really order it and I won't have time to find a special place. I know I'm not really being reasonable, but I'm a bit stuck.
Does masking or other tape cause a big problem?
No problem; not like I have work to do or anything.
Masking tape will work, but it leaves a residue that I've found very difficult to remove. Someone here said that it comes off with a smooth cloth towel and a bit of paint thinner, but I have a slight problem with using thinner on my $47k car.
Race tape is available at most road-racing stores; if they sell automotive helmets, they'll probably sell the tape. I'm not familiar with your area so I can't suggest any specific places.
I'd like to suggest FastSigns again - ridiculously fast and as cheap as the tape will be; the last batch of numbers I got were $3/character for stick-on vinyl, and they came out great.
