Advice for 1st time at Roebling Road
Hoping to run my 010 ZR1 at the NCCC high speed event Nov 27-29 at Roebling Raod.
I've never been to that track and need advice/tips/suggetions, etc.
I'll be driving to the track and therefore running factory Michelin tires. Not trying to set any records nor damage the car. Just want to drive it at a speed I'm confortable with and have fun. Already have my NCCC hi-speed license and approved helmet.
Also loking for a source to purchase a fire extinguiser mount per NCCC rules.
Any help/suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

i just read an article in our local SCCA region's magazine about a guy who went there. he said the track is perfectly flat (no tricky camber, etc), only 7 turns and extremely easy to learn.

nice track.. its quick and has lots of run off room... just be wary of the pit wall opn the inside of turn 9..... if you run wide they suggested to us that we let the cars run out in to the field.. they said correcting could spell disaster and a kiss with the conc. wall...
you'll love the track.. loads of fun!!!

This is a great site!!!! ...and has "Hot Lap" writeups for many tracks.

The bottom line on Roebling though is go fast and turn right. It's a good test track, but not a good place to race...as there's no place to pass. If you beat somebody into Turn 1, you could block like hell for the rest of the lap!
It's great for setting up your car though - one long sweeper after another. I have tons of video.

I have about 25 track days at Roebling. It's an awesome little track, recently repaved, lots of run-off room and even considering T9 very few spots to get in trouble.
Have a great time!

You Tube Man. You Tube.
You can watch any event, any course, any car is you spend enough time searching :-)
Watch, slow mo, look at turn in points. If they get passed alot its not the guy to watch. If they pass everyone else its probably a good line :-)
KISS
Keep it simple stupid!

Watch this Video of Bob Mayer and his ex W/C Vette at Roebling
In car video of Saturday SCCA SARRC Invitational Challenge/ V8 StockCar points race from cockpit of Bob Mayer's ex World Challenge C6 Corvette.
Cars if front of him at the start are Bill Smith in the winged super late with SB2 chevy power and former Grand Am Champ Dave Machavern in a Tommy Riggins built Corvette. (these two jet off and Mayer battles with former three time Nascar Goody's Dash champ Larry Hoopaugh in the white Cup type Monte Carlo, Tony Amico in the black ex ASA Delco car. At one point Lee Arnold flashes by in his ex Ken Schrader/Boris Said Southwest tour car.
Mayer's car hangs pretty well with fastest stock cars despite having only about 420 rear wheel hp. Check out the straight line speed of Hoopaugh's ride.

RRR is a fun track and is sort of fast. You can drive the whole track in 4th gear if you want to, many people do. Depending on how brave you are you come out of the last turn at 100mph and can hit a 150 mph on the front straight before braking for the first turn.

Are you comming out for Friday as well as Sat/Sun? If you've never been to Roebling its a great opportunity to get practice laps in.
Youtube and trackapedia (sp) are great places for figuring out the plan of attack for the track.
Remember its a sprint start to the timing lights (event 1) then a full lap back to those timing lights (event 2) then exit a turn 4 (I think thats the turn with the service road). Just have fun, the turn1 & 2 combination is a little tricky. Cars will be spaced out so that even though there are 3 cars on the track you will probably not see the other cars. No "chicane" on the main straight, exit turn 9 with as much speed as you can and floor it all the way to the timing light then stand on the brakes. Street tires will be OK for you, especially if it rains.
See you there!!!

Not sure where you live, but if you can break free this Friday, Seattime puts on a great event. You drive 30 min, sit out 60 (at most) and drive again for 30. After 1pm, they usually combine groups and it's 30 min on 30 min off. By 3, you are begging to stop! Most track time out of any event!
