Homestead is a blast...but is a real gut check to try and take NASCAR 3/4 flat. I didn't do the test day (should have) did one qualifier friday morning, friday afternoon 1/2 way thru the qualifier I lost my brakes. Seems I broke the right front knuckle, which destroyed the AP racing caliper. Unfortunately I didn't have a spare and nobody is open over the holiday. No one in the pits had a match....so Chris Ingle was kind enough to let me borrow his old C6 front brakes (thank you Chris). We hooked them up and did the race..........but they are a long way from the brakes on the car. We were lucky to come away with a second place>>correct time>>1:26.5. We'll skip qualifying tomorrow and just go race, since we used up almost all the pad. We'll have new race calipers shipped to Sebring monday morning for next weeks race.
The Phoenix prepared C6 built by Andrew Aquilante and driven by John Yaroz was a rocket ship....

Bob,

Looking forward to seeing you this coming weekend.

One thing I jsut have to ask...are you trying to tell us that your AP calipers worked better and stopped the car shorter than the stock calipers? I am confused as I have been told that just isn't the case!

Sunday results pretty similar to Saturday

Yarosz and Mayer 1 and 2 in STO.

Cousin Al won T2

Ingle i think won T-1

Mike s won SSB...

Had only a brief report... Waiting for official results with times...

They sure are nice cars....

We will build more... We have an identical twin to the yarosz car for sale in the shop

We also have the Hangar queen and a couple of other great candidates...

What a great class this is going to be!!!

I've seen the twin to John's car and it's a thing of beauty. Andrew Aquilante has built both of these cars and really knows what he's doing. I've been on track with John Yarosz with my '09 Z06 and can report first hand, that his car is fast, reliable and stops like nothing I have ever seen!!!

AJ is known to be good at driving and car set up, but is vastly underrated as a car builder. Remember, he was one of 2 or 3 people who put together John Heinricy's 2001 T1 Run Offs winning C5 (the "rain" race) in 3 weeks. I think he was 15 then?

The car Yarocz owns was built by AJ to run Grand Am. I only saw it once from a distance parked outside a turn at The Glen, but I hear it is a beaute.

This class will be so cool and I am getting more excited about it every day.

Congrats to John and Bob, this is gonna be a great and growing class in 2010.

Someone could have plenty of fun for the dollar, by just putting a good C5 T1 car on a diet, adding long tube headers, better calipers, a 3.73 or 3.90 gear, wing, splitter and maybe a bit more cam. Would you beat John and Bob...........NO, but it would still be a helluva entertaining quick ride. The old Grand Am SGS Vettes didn't have even that much and they were seriously quick.

I saw Jerry Onks on the entry list, did he run or isn't the car quite done yet?
