1999 vs 2000 FRC?
Is there any functional differences (spring rates, bar diameters, AH/TC calibration, etc.) between a 1999 or 2000 FRC? I can't find references to anything that was different, but thought that I would check in this subforum.

Rod bolts changed in 01, all 97-00's have the crappy ones. 2000 was the first year of special California emissions I think, and I had the misfortune of having one. Those cars had Pre-cats as well as normal catalytic converters, so I'd make sure to avoid that.
I really don't remember there being any major differences at all.

I don't know what the price ranges are, but considering the 01's got the engine upgrades, I'd look hard at a Z06 over an FRC personally. HOWEVER, I had an 00' FRC, and absolutely loved it at the time, but the engine upgrades are worth a bit more $$$$$

Just curious, did the FRC also have the Ti mufflers or did that come along in the Z? I was thinking it came with the Z...

Sounds like the '99 might be the better weapon. Al, if the bars are different you may want to get the one with the smaller rear bar (better rear bite out of the corners). You're going to swap the front bar anyway. And if the '00 has an additional cat you don't want that either. Mufflers are not relevent either since those are changeable. You could swap out your Z06 mufflers for those heavy steel ones.

I wasn't clear, SOME 00's have dual cats per side. I had a car in NC that had CA emmissions for some stupid reason. Fortunately I found an h-pipe from someone who did headers and "fixed" it.
Having the extra 500rpm cushion of the newer style rod bolts is worth something too.....of course it isn't that hard to swap rod bolts in the older engines either.

TedDBere - all this depends upon what my current co-driver wants to do. He still has an extremely mint Solstice Z0K available.
