Default F-1 China practice you have to see what happen! Spoiler

Buemi's Red Bull suspension in front just exploded with the wheels flying off going straight. Uprights failed Lucky he was not going real fast or in a corner

That was crazy!! Thats the worst part of the track for that to happen. Braking from 200+ mph on that long straight and then your uprights fail... pretty scary. Luckily he was okay!

They said they were possibly trying newer materials or lighter front suspension. When it got loaded with the braking force it looked like an icicle that hit the ground both sides instantly in many many pieces I am should you could see it on Utube.

This actually occurred on Friday morning in practice session #1.

From itv-f1.com:

Sebastien Buemi’s violent accident in Friday morning practice was caused by the front-right upright failing, Toro Rosso has revealed.

Both front wheels were ripped off Buemi’s car when the STR6’s suspension collapsed under braking at the end of the back straight, and the Swiss driver was fortunate to escape injury.

The upright that failed was a new design introduced in Shanghai, and Toro Rosso has now reverted to tried-and-tested components for the remainder of the meeting.

“It’s quite clear that something on the upright went wrong either with the material or the machining process, because it was a zero mileage upright,” team boss Franz Tost told the BBC.

“So we have to investigate and analyse at home [at the team’s Faenza factory] what was the reason for this.

“We are now going out with used uprights and therefore we are confident that nothing will happen.”

...And here I thought Kamui Kobayashi's wing failure was bad when it fell off and he became a helpless passenger flying into nico hulkenberg.

Buemi had luck on his side.

He was still trying to steer after the whole front suspension was gone. Purely reflex I'm sure.
