I put the stock sway bars on for this (ran the T1's back in July). the car was way better in the bumpy infield and transition to the oval. Not as good trail braking, like getting into 1.
great to see David (only briefly), and meet Kevin and Brandon. Hope you guys can come out to CMP.
nice pics, thanks!

I only had a few hours while my kids were at preschool, so my visit was brief. However, it is only a 12minute drive from my house to CMS, so I HAD to come out.
Let me know if you need photos......I can send the originals to you. There are at least a few good ones

So you got me by 1.5 seconds. Oh well, I will be happy with 3rd for my first event at CMS and my first event with NASA.
Congrats, btw! Damn good driving. I wish I could have run behind you more today to learn a bit.
So given that our cars are pretty much equal (since you were running stock sways and have some things done), do you think that your Hoosiers are worth 1.5 seconds over my NT01s? I wonder how much more I can get out of the NT01s (100 treadwear) versus how much I can drive better?

I've only ever compared 555R2's back to back to A6's, and it was brand new As, and they were 3-4 seconds on a 1:40 course.
The A's fall off in the heat, even today, even though it wasn't hot, the sun was on the track, and they just don't work as good as they do when it's cooler.
I've never ran the NT01. what sizes were you running, 275/315? we have to run the A's in 275s, so it's hard to compare since the sizes will play into that.
bottom line at the end of the day, I'd say if you were within 1.5 sec, you're are right there in the hunt on equal rubber.

I was there last week at the auto fair. I have walked up the banking in 3/4 before it takes a pair to go off in those corners at speed.

315 NT01 would be 7 pt tires, and +4 for being 20mm over

Hate I missed you when you came by David. I was hoping you would rip a few laps off in the car. It was running great! Williams fixed the idling issue. Solid as a rock at 151. Just wish I had bigger kahunas to hit 3-4 faster. I thought I could find out what top speed in 4th would be for me, but I wouldn't stay in it long enough. I was hoping to follow some of the TT cars when they were practicing with us, but the green Viper went off track when I was following him, and Kevin slowed down when I got behind him. Can't believe Mark was getting 151 on front. Nice day, not very crowded, just wish there was a little more track time. Got spoiled at VIR with 4 hrs of open track and then today it is just 4 20 min sessions. But at least there is a track day for Lowes. Definitely be back next year. Hope to see you guys out there.

looks like traqmate says 151 getting into NASCAR3, and 149 before braking for 1. I thought I had seen 151 but I must have looked at it wrong. got a sorry 01 motor, jason's car is 4 mph faster on the road atlanta backstraight, he'd be doing 155 turning 9 grand in 4th like he does.
With sticker As, you could get a bunch better run out of the infield on to the banking (I was really having to feather it) so mph at the end of the backstraight would probably go up a few, and for sure you could haul through the banking faster and get a better launch off 4. My A's were well past their prime.
running that banking makes you want to go to Buck Backers stock car school

I did a quick spreadsheet last night, and at 140mph you are already at the Load limit (1400lbs) of Hoosier tires at CMS. You are also pulling over 2.1 g's, which is why it feels so awkward (for us road race guys). At 150mph, you are loading the tires at nearly 1550lbs and 2.4 g's. Basically on the oval, you are turning with an extra 30% grip or so, yet you are DOUBLING the load rating you would see on a road course.
Bottom line.....caution is a good thing on road race tires, and as I talked to some of you about, we had 2 cars lose tires in the oval at the PCA Lowes DE a few years ago, and it's not fun watching a street Porsche hit the wall and spin down onto the apron!

I called it quits early when my front RF was just starting to show some cord. No way I was going back out in 3&4 on that.
You really gotta respect what those cup guys do, averaging 190 mph around that joint
