Ball Joint and Tie Rod heat Shield

I don't use aluminum foil like Reynolds Wrap. But I do use foil I got from HD in the HVAC area. There is some aluminum tape, about 3" wide, very sticky. It is rated to 240-265 degrees. I use that and it lasts quite a while and makes a good reflective surface and insulates apparently enough. My ball joints are all original and the boots look great. The tape costs about $20 or so a roll. You can also use it to wrap other things you want to reflect heat away from.

The problem with the foil is it tends to come apart quickly. The soup can is bolted onto the tie rod end using the stud nut. Then it stays in place. I am still using the cans I installed 3 years ago on my 03Z. They do get rusty but that only bothers the waxers.

I am thinking of doing the ball joints/tie rods in header wrap with a SS ziptie along with some HVAC reflective duct tape.
Might be overkill but as long as it is safe might be a good route. Thoughts?
