Default Traqmate Tach signal in passenger footwell

Can anyone help me locating the tach wire near the BCM? That should be the best location to tap for Traqmate.

Thanks

I know there is a white wire under the driver dash and also the white wire at the PCM and fuse block.

I wired mine right to the PCM.

97 - 98 Tach signal is at PCM, blue connector (C2), pin #35, white wire

99 - 04 Tach signal is at PCM, red connector (C2), pin #10, white wire

05 - 10 Tach signal located at PCM (behind passenger side wheel well, bottom connector (C1), pin #48, white wire. This wire also runs through the under-hood fuse block (C2, pin F6) to the instrument cluster (pin#5/connector #2) and to the Heads Up Display module (pin#4)

Note you will have set your the traqmate to 4 cylinder for the proper rpms.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. What is the preferred method to tap a wire? One of those blue plastic taps?

Very helpful info. Hadn't connected my tach lead because couldn't figure out where to hook it up. Someone told me #1 plug wire. Well, that was wrong. Thanks. Jerry

I ended up using the white wire under the dash. It was hard to figure out which wire it was since there are several white ones.

that is usually the issue and then dealing with the small area under the steering wheel becomes annoying.

those usually work fine. I normally splice, solder and heat shrink.
