I did a test and tune day before the SCCA nationals at TWS a couple weeks back and was lapping along with Doug Harringtons TA VooDoo vette. Nicely prepared and crazy fast.

Holy Crap that is a hot car

Seems the Camaro is poised to steal some of the vettes attn out there.. along with Cadillac.

I have to tell you ...in race form, I am a fan of all 3 cars.

All the TA2 guys have raced with V8 StockCar and Tony Amico was our
2008 V8 GTA class champion and has 13 series wins

Tommy Graham is a nine time winner in V8 GTA and last years runner up
to Kurt Roehrig.

Charles Wicht has won 14 V8 SPO or V8 GT-1 races and holds track records at Sebring and CMP in V8 SPO (before wing). Charles has run as fast as 2:04 at Sebring in his winged, Chevy SB2 powered Monte Carlo.

This is the former Sonoma winning SouthWest tour Snap-On Monte Carlo of Kevin Harvick. Just a perimeter frame late model stock car
developed into national competitive GT-1 car.

Default New Camaro Body

The new body looks great! Now Steve Tye can have another reason to not get the car to the track, he has to rebody it before he's run it.

Have a great time at Sebring, wish I was going to be there but just cannot bring myself to pay for the whole weekend and stay for only one day. I didn't mind doing that to see the Vettes run in World Challenge and I just won't stay for the weekend.

Hope to catch you at Roebling later this year, maybe Daytona in May.

Not trying to step on any toes but I have to ask....why the Camaro body? Is it mandated by new rules?

It looks wicked but what I observed with the new Camaro body in the ASA Sunoco Late Model tour was a huge increase in drag and a loss of a 1 sec+ in lap times on the faster tracks. After all, Nationwide went to the new bodies to slow down lap times to increase the time split between the Nationwide and Cup cars. It seems like it would have been a better move competitively to run one of the ABC Aero bodies from ARP (or Five Star)

Gregg, probably rebodied because it is way cool. I heard the ARP Camaro's were 3 to 6 tenths slower at a 1/2 mile track, like New Smyrna.

Maybe not as bad in a road race app. The Stevenson Camaro was faster than the pontiac it replaced even though the Poncho supposedly had better aero.

No doubt though the ABC is best. Kurt Roehrig runs an ABC on the champ. car.

As I read down the list and saw his name, I figured, of course he's in.

Good answer, that is what I wanted to hear. I love the looks of an ABC body, but this thing looks absolutely brutal and its definitely different.

3-6 sounds about right for New Smyrna (I love that track....), but big tracks like Nashville last year were brutal for the rebodied cars in ASA.

I'd still be concerned on some of the long straights on some tracks, but if its a relatively quick track with just 1 or maybe 2 long straights its not hard to make that white Camaro about 3 lanes wide when you need to

This Camaro driven by Gregg Rodgers just won the TA2 class at the Trans Am race Sebring. A winner right out of the box! Way to go Gregg.
