Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge

It was a stupidly fun event. He actually tied with last years winner Mark Stielow in points:
but he had a better lap time so he won the event:
The runner up was a friend of mine, and a long time racer of a corvette Brian Hobaugh, in his 73 camaro that is THE ultimate muscle car IMO:

Some kind of land speed car, it sure sounded good. I was disappointed with how poor the owner drove.

I was rooting for local SFR American Autocross Series racers Brian H and Mike Maier. Mike made a great showing for the Ford contingent in his Mustang, pretty wild car with it's EX NASCAR Roush/Yates motor (9K RPM redline and full drysump) and the IRS system he developed for those old Mustangs.
Then there is the "human Cyborg" Mary Pozzi who is unbeliveable in any car on an autocross course, Danny took the autocross too, job WELL DONE! as there were other multi-time SCCA National Champions in the group.
Sietlow's 69 Camaro is a sentimental favorite of mine as I owned a 69 RS Z/28 for 20 years. Noticed Sietlow had removed ZR-1 carbon brakes for Stop Tech iron rotor system, he did Wilwood challenge right @ 7.0 seconds, Mike Maier had a 7.3 second run which I think was one of the best non-ABS equipped stops, then went for broke and missed by about 6-8 inches on a 6.9 second attempt on his last run.
Brian H did really well considering his limitied open track expirience and father Steve told me car was still in the de-bugging stages.
I would be interested in the specifications on Danny's C6 entry.

Rules required DOT 200 minimum. Michelin Pilot Sporst seemed popular on many cars. Kyle and Stacy Tucker running BFG on their Camaros, hope they get good sponsership $$$ from BFG as they are costing them lots in performance over other tires. Sietlow was running new Goodyear Supercar tires like Z06 and Grand Sport have OEM, he did big burnout in Wilwood contest to get decent launch.

The car Danny drove is my 06 Z: (Used to be yellow) - It IS a street car complete with Nav, AC, carpet, windows and all only mods inside are Kirkley race seats , harness bar and belts, Hurst Shifter - Motor has headers, cam, tune with a Quarter Master light clutch turning the tranny - suspension has been worked over with Koni shocks, pfadt bars and bushings, SKF bearings, Stop Tech brakes, stiffer leaf springs - bosy wise we did the wing and front spoiler with undertray - Forgeline wheels - Michelin Sport Cup tires.
Too bad Danny didn't get a third lap on the Road Course - would have like to see him down below the 1.40 mark....he had it in him

As soon as I can breathe from returning and dealing with all of my other drama, I will make a large post on this board, giving insider information from the event and thanking those who helped with this effort which were many.
Thanks everyone for the congrats !!....It is GREAT when a plan comes together !
